Luxembourg: New version of ‘Tu Te Reconnaitras’ released

Anne-Marie David goes dance!

In 1973 Luxembourg took the title of Eurovision winner for the second time in a row. Anne-Marie David won the contest with her song ‘Tu Te Reconnaitras’.

Now, in October 2011, this winning song will be released again. Anne-Marie David has recorded a dance version of this song. A German version, which will be called ‘Du Bist Da’, and is a duet between David and Mave O’Rick, a German artist who came up with the idea of the re-release, will also be released.
Special about this re-release is that it is not just the same recording with a different beat with it. David went back to the studio and recorded it once again. Though, her voice did not really change a lot in thirty-eight years.

The 1973 contest was won by Luxembourg, and was also hosted by Luxembourg, after Vicky Leandros won in 1972 with her song ‘Après Toi’. ‘Tu Te Reconnaitras’ managed to beat the Spanish entry ‘Eres Tu’, which became a big world hit after Eurovision and star from the United Kingdom, Cliff Richard, who came third with ‘Power To All Our Friends’.
Anne-Marie David returned to Eurovision in 1979. This time she represented her home country: France. Her song ‘Je Suis L’Enfant Soleil’ couldn’t do what ‘Tu Te Reconnaitras’ did, but still scored a good position: third.
In 1987 David caused a shock in the French music scene when she announced she would withdraw from music and showbusiness. Though, sixteen years after her withdrawal, she returned to music.
