Spain: David Civera: “I have a song to win the contest”

He asks TVE to believe in him

David Civera, Spain’s representative in 2001 and the hispanic best position ever since with Dile que la quiero, has declared to La Vanguardia that he has a song for Eurovision, that he knows that would be well received, it would charm the audience, and that could win the contest altogether. He added that TVE would have to believe in him in the same way he believes in himself and in the contest, and said that it is really difficult to convince a whole establishment to believe in someone.

When asked if he thought that Spain could ever win Eurovision again, he answered that it is indeed possible. “It is just a matter of Spain believing in the festival as it deserves”. He emphasized that he would not returned to the contest unless he was given the chance to choose the song. He said to have a clear idea of what he would do in Eurovision; “I would participate with a song that I already have which I know would be liked”.
