Just moments ago, Macedonian national television, MRT, has announced that Kaliopi will represent FYR Macedonia in Baku!
Kaliopi Bukle is a Macedonian superstar, and one of the best recognized and rewarded artists from this country. She was chosen to represent FYR Macedonia back in 1996, but only in qualifications, where she failed to qualify. Since then, she had various attempts to represent her country in Eurovision, with her entry “Rum Dum Dum” from 2009 being her latest try. She has recorded nine albums so far, and countless hits.
The song will be decided in a similar way as when Toše Proeski took part in 2004, when he sang eight songs, and the winning song was chosen by 1/3 televoting, 1/3 jury voting, and 1/3 Toše’s votes.
Kaliopi is also an honorable member of UNICEF in FYR Macedonia, and she has recently received a statue of “Mother Theresa” for her humanity work.
Listen to Kaliopi’s last try to enter Eurovision (“Rum Dum Dum“, in a duet with Naum) and one of her biggest hits – “Rodjeni“.
