Donna to face Jedward in Eurosong battle
Former Irish Eurovision entrant Donna McCaul, one half of the duo Donna & Joe that represented Ireland in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, has announced that she is one of the five entrants taking part in the Irish Eurosong in February. Donna wrote the following on her Facebook wall:
Ok guys i have been chosen as one of the 5 acts for euro song 2012 to Represent Ireland in the eurovision this year. I am looking for all of your support and votes in feb when the songs will be announced live on tv. Thanks guys
Donna & Joe sang “Love” in Kiev, but were the first Irish act ever not to qualify for a Eurovision final- finishing 14th with 53 points in the semifinal. She joins Jedward as the other act to have confirmed participation, with the twins strongly rumoured to be under mentor Linda Martin.
