Croatia: Nina Badrić to Baku!

[UPD]

escXtra has now received an official confirmation by Nina Badrić’s management that Nina will represent Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012.

It is true, Nina Badric will represent Croatia on Eurovision Song Contest

There were loads of speculations about how Croatia is going to choose its Eurovision entrant for Baku -- whether it will be internally or via a national final, how many participants will there be, if only one singer is going to be chosen who shall sing three songs, etc. As we reported yesterday, the lead singer of Colonia said in a radio interview that the band will take part in Dora. Today however, Nina Badrić wrote on her official Facebook page that she will be going to Baku.

Nina Badrić wrote on her official Facebook page:

My dear friends… I’m off to Eurovision this year. What do you think about that?

Nina is also a very famous Croatian singer, with most of her songs hitting the top of the charts in Croatia and abroad. She has released 10 albums up to date, the latest one in 2011. She took part in Dora four times -- in 1993, 1994, 1995, and then in 2003 when she came second.

HRT still hasn’t confirmed anything yet, and it is yet unknown if Nina has been selected internally, or if she is going to compete against Colonia and maybe some others in a national final. Stay tuned for more information to come.

Listen to two Nina’s songs -- “Čarobno jutro” (Magical morning) with which she finished second in Dora 2003, and one of her biggest hits “Da se opet tebi vratim” (To come back to you again).
