Tonight: Turkish Song Presentation

Tonight see’s the 16th entry for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest presented, and we’re off to Turkey for this one as Can Bonomo performs his Eurovision entry for the first time.

24 Year old Can Bonomo was internally selected by the Turkish broadcaster TRT in early January, which left a lot of Turkish fans surprised by the decision.  However, Can’s participation for Turkey has also been welcomed by many who believe his mix of Ethnic pop/rock could bring Turkey success in Baku.

Whilst very little information has been given regarding the song’s style, various sources have written that the song is in English with a few Turkish words included and features ethnic elements. In an interview with escXtra last month, Can told us that “English is the way to go”.

The song presentation show begins at 18.30 CET and will be broadcast live on TRT Muzik with a simulcast of the song presentation itself on TRT 1 as part of the evening news.  As well as performing Turkey’s Eurovision entry, Can will also perform several songs from his album Meczup which will then be followed by a press conference.
