Russian star Dima Bilan, the two-time Eurovision entrant who won the contest on his second attempt in 2008, will still be at this year’s contest in Baku despite losing out in the Russian national final.
Bilan told Express Gazeta that “I am going there as a special guest of the competition. The Organizing Committee of Eurovision has invited me to be on air in the second semi-final on May 24. There will be a surprise that I cannot say yet. On 23 May I’ll sing togetherwith the other half the duo who won last year, singer Nikki”. Bilan told the newspaper that the pair had the idea to perform a duet after meeting each other, and it it was worked out well.
The EBU have yet to officially confirm any of the interval acts through eurovision.tv to date, however various Azeri media have confirmed that local boy Emin Agalarov will perform during the final.
