Editorial: We’ve seen our winner!

The first week is now over

Europe, that’s it! We’ve seen 84 rehearsals over the last eight days, starting with Montenegro over a week ago, and finishing with Germany this evening. During that time we’ve seen Bulgaria turn up in leopard-skin, a Trojan donkey for Montenegro, and more recently the fans from Spain starting to convince themselves that it might be there turn this year.

I hope you’ve enjoyed our coverage so far from the individual rehearsals. We’ve been a little shocked to see just how many views some of the videos have been getting- such as Kaliopi’s rehearsing being watched by over 40,000 people! However the coverage doesn’t stop here. Next week we’ll be live-streaming during the dress rehearsals so you can hear the songs in order. We’re going to try and get the stream going an hour before each dress rehearsal so you’ll have enough time to get prepared!

So for now, thank you for following us in Baku during the past week, and look forward to sharing the second week with you too!

Also, do be sure to visit our partner site escChat.com where you can join the discussion on today’s events from Baku and meet other Eurovision fans.
