Today, Swedish Eurovision heavyweight Christer Björkman confirmed that the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will not take place in three different cities, and will be held in totality in either Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö.

In refuting the rumour that has spread amongst the fan community since Loreen won this year’s contest in Baku, Björkman said that the concept would simply be too complicated, meaning delegations, fans, and television crews would have to be transported between cities within a day of shows and rehearsals.

Host broadcaster Sveriges Television is still considering which city and venue will play host to the contest next year, with Stockholm’s Friends Arena, located in the suburb of Solna as the frontrunner. The host city and venue will be officially revealed in early autumn.
