Sweden: Emilia (MF 2009) launches new album

"Lost Inside" is her new single, released this week.

Emilia is back, not as Emilia Rydberg, under which she released her Europe-wide hit “Big Big World”, not as Emilia, under which she came back in 2009 to Melodifestivalen with “You’re My World”, but as Emilia Mitiku with her new single “Lost Inside” and a vintage pop album.

Emilia appeared on BBC Breakfast TV this morning to promote her new single “Lost Inside” and album “I Belong to You”. When asked on her attempt at Eurovision, Emilia said, “I entered my song “You’re My World” which was selected for the Swedish Eurovision selection and I felt that it was important for me to comeback to the stage, in front of the Swedish public. The song introduced me to my producer for my new vintage pop album.”

“Big Big World” was released in 1998 across Europe, reaching #5 in the UK and #1 in Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Switzerland. She released a follow-up single “Good Sign” but not to the same commercial success, only reaching #16 in Sweden and #54 in the UK.

“Lost Again” is the new single being released this week by Emilia Mitiku. You can download it on iTunes, Amazon and 7digital. The album will be released on September 3.
