Croatia: HRT confirms participation in 2013

The Head of Delegation of HRT, Mr. Aleksandar Kostadinov, has announced today that Croatia will be present at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, to be held in Malmö, despite the failures of the country to qualify for the Grand Final of Eurovision in their last three attempts.

It is yet to be decided whether HRT is going to choose an artist and a song internally, as they did this year, or whether they will go back to having a national final as it was the case before. This decision will be made in the months to come.

Croatia hasn’t qualified for the Grand Final of Eurovision since 2009, when Igor Cukrov & Andrea represented their country with “Lijepa Tena”, and they were chosen by the juries to qualify. This year Nina Badrić sang “Nebo” in Baku, but managed to finish 12th in the semi final, and missing the final for three points.
