We have booked 3 500 hotel rooms and there are other parties who want to book the arena for the same time, so we have to make a decision, says Karin Mårtensson, the representative of Malmö Arena.
Tomorrow, Karin Mårtensson will head to Stockholm together with the representatives of Malmö and Skåne. There, they will try to persuade SVT’s management to hold Eurovision in the Scanian capital. Also, it is easy to get to and from the city center and Malmö Arena is known to have sufficient experience in organizing major music events.
Interestingly enough, the article notes that Eurovision Song Contest was held in Malmö Arena in 1992 with a then relatively unknown Christer Björkman as a Swedish finalist. He came second last in the competition. Does he want to go back?
