Czech Republic: No Return in 2013

CT, the Czech broadcaster, has confirmed their intention not to return to the contest, which they have missed on every occasion after being represented by Gypsy CZ in Moscow in 2009, with Aven Romale, which scored nul points. There is a combination of reasons, up in a total lack of interest in the contest by the Czech audience and press. There is chance that, on top of not participating, CT won’t even broadcast the show.

The Czech Republic is one of the most -if not the most- unsuccessful countries in Eurovision, failing to qualify for the final in every single occasion, having managed to score only ten points combining their three participations (one for Kabát in 2007, nine for Tereza Kerndlová in 2008 and nul for Gypsy CZ in 2009), and achieving two last places and one second-to-last.
