The last Italian representative in the Eurovision Song Contest to get the bronze trophy was ‘Umberto Tozzi’. We saw ‘Umberto Tozzi’ together with ‘Raf’ perform ‘Gente di Mare’ during the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest which was held in Belgium. This was the last time that Italy placed 3rd in the contest, before achieving their 1990 victory, with a total of 103 Points.
From that contest onwards, Umberto released a number of hit singles and albums but after a hiatus from this last album ‘Superstar’ in 2009, Tozzi is back with a compilation album called ‘Yesterday – The Best of 1976–2012’. His new release consists of 2 discs with a mixture of new hits together with his best singles. Umberto Tozzi’s new single ‘Se Tu Non Fossi Qui’ is also part of this compilation album.
Umberto has embarked on a massive tour to promote his new hits album and will continue towards the beginning of 2013.
Let’s walk down memory lane and watch Umberto’s Eurovision entry ….
