First 2013 Swedish National Finalist has been announced
The first Melodifestivalen 2013 participant will be known on Sunday 26th August 2012 when the winner of ‘Svensktoppen nästa’ will be announced.
As SVT had recently announced changes for the next Melodifestivalen edition, one of the 32 participants will be chosen from ‘Svensktoppen nästa’, which is a Swedish music competition for songwriters, and new artists. The eight finalists competing for a spot in the 2013 Swedish National Semi-Finals are:
- Vapenbröder – Vapenbröder
- Clara Klingenström – It makes me crazy
- Adam Sagström – Alla broar som jag bränt
- Tezza Ericsson – I wanna go
- Kalle Nilsson – Minnen från igår
- Therese Fredenwall – Drop the fight
- Elvira Fisk – Real life fairytale
- Chris Michols – From the start

UPDATE 26th August 2012:
The winner of P4 radio’s Svensktoppen nästa contest has been announced. Therese Fredenwall has won a spot in the Melodifestivalen 2013 semi-final. She will present a new song for the competition and will not participate with her winning song ‘Drop The Fight’.
