Germany: ‘Stardust’ Lena Meyer-Landrut

New album in the works!

The last German representative to win the Eurovision Song Contest, was in Oslo, 2010, with the song Satellite sung by Lena Meyer-Landrut. She won both the public and jury vote in the final and returned to the Eurovision stage the following year with the song ‘Taken By a Stranger’ which garnered a total of 107 points finishing 10th place.

During both years, Lena released her debut album called ‘My Cassette Player’ which a number of singles such as ‘ Satellite’, ‘Touch a New Day’, ‘Bee’, and ‘Love Me’ were released. Her second album titled ‘Good News’ was released after her internal selection for the 2011 song contest. It contained 12 tracks which were candidate songs for Düsseldorf. This album was re-released later during the same year with additional songs. Now 15th October 2012 is set for Lena’s 3rd album called ‘Stardust’. Eight songs were already revealed to a number of journalists in Germany. It is stated that the songs are swing and jazzy, a similar style to what fans heard on her debut album. Lena has explained that she has put a lot of passion and effort into this new album. Most of the songs are written by Lena herself. A spring 2013 tour is expected as part of the ‘Stardust’ promotion.
