In an e-mail to escXtra.com, French broadcaster France 3 has revealed the rules for their national final. As announced a few days ago, the national final will take place during the music show Les Chansons D’Abord.
Some of the rules for the French national final are basic Eurovision rules: artists must be at least 16 years old, songs cannot have been published anywhere before 1 September 2013, there’s a maximum of six artists allowed on stage, songs cannot be any longer than three minutes and cannot have any political, commercial or inappropriate messages or references.
Furthermore, France 3 said songs must be sung in the French language for the biggest part. They also said songs must contain a large vocal part, which means largely instrumental songs will not be accepted. When songs are sent to France 3, it must be a pre-produced demo of the song. Just lyrics or partitions will not be accepted.
The deadline for submission will be Sunday 24 November.
Interested composers or artists can submit their entries by sending them to email@example.com.
