A few weeks ago, we told you exactly why Ukraine needs to return to Eurovision – well we didn’t have to wait long before finding out that this will indeed be happening in 2016.

According Zurab Alasania, head of the Ukrainian broadcaster NTU, the decision has been taken for Ukraine to return to the contest after just one year absent, and the country has officially submitted its application.

There is a chance, according to the head of NTU, of the broadcaster collaborating with another major channel on its entry for the contest, but this will be decided in due course.

Content Manager: In the real world I work in PR and I love pizza, dogs and gin. When it comes to Eurovision I can be quite a cynical fan at times, but I can always be won over by a killer key-change.
