ARMTV has confirmed its participation in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that Armenia will announce their entrant on 13th October.

The video released by Eurovision.tv shows the entrant already, but she is not recognisable. It has however been confirmed that it will be a female solo singer. This feeds the rumours of both Iveta Mukuchyan as well as Athena Manoukian, although there is also still a campaign going to get Tamar Kaprelian to Eurovision once more.

In Vienna, Armenia was represented by Genealogy, a group made up of Inga Arshakyan, Vahe Tilbian, Essaï Altounian, Stephanie Topalian, Mary-Jean O’Doherty Vasmatzian and finally 2016 rumour Tamar Kaprelian. Their song Face The Shadow reached the final and finished in sixteenth there.

Who do you think will represent Armenia in Stockholm? Let us know!

Media Liaison: One of the founding members at escXtra. I'm the Dutchman who loves every little idiotic Eurovision fact there is. I usually listen to a lot of Eurovision music, but when I'm not, I listen to country music, schlager and pop, but mostly artists like Tina Turner, Emma, Ilse DeLange and Helene Fischer. On escXtra, you can find me doing pretty much anything that needs doing: Interviews, liveblogs or just your daily portion of news!
