Jade Ewen to star in Aladdin

It has just been announced that UK Eurovision star Jade Ewen is to star alongside Dean John-Wilson in the forthcoming West End production of Disney’s Aladdin.
Since finishing in 5th place for the United Kingdom in 2009 and scoring top ten hits with the Sugababes, Jade has been thriving in the theatre, where she started out. Before Eurovision she played Nala in The Lion King and recently she has starred in productions of Godspell and In The Heights.
Now she will take on the well-known role of Jasmine in the adaptation of Disney’s 1991 movie, which is transferring from a successful Broadway production.
Her Aladdin will be played by Dean John-Wilson, who rose to fame in the 2008 series of Britain’s Got Talent and has since toured with Sister Act and starred in Here Lies Love in the National Theatre.
The show will officially open on Wednesday 15 June in the Prince Edward Theatre, with previews beginning on Friday 27 May and tickets can be bought from today. Will you be going to see Jade treading the boards?
