As usual for this time of year, there have been a few rumours floating around the Swedish press regarding the names in the frame for Melodifestivalen 2016 – we mentioned a few of them here. Well soon we will know which are true, which are false, and what other surprises Christer Björkman and SVT have in store, as the competing artists will be officially announced next Monday, 30 November.
Last week it was announced that Gina Dirawi would return to host the 2016 competition along with an all-star line-up of guest presenters. Next week we will finally know the artists that will be joining her, most likely along with the songs they will be singing and their composers.
One artist we already know will be competing is the trio Smajling Swedes from the Svensktoppen Nästa competition, as revealed in September.
As if the excitement about the imminent reveal wasn’t enough, SVT are giving readers of their website a chance to be at next Monday’s press conference, with some VIP passes up for grabs as well. You can read more information (in Swedish) and be in with a chance to be there here.
