You can’t say FiK doesn’t bring something other national finals don’t! 🙂

The *former* parody band, “Paroditët e Vlorës” are funny actually, for people their age. It’s not too appealing to the audience though.

Don’t worry, everything will soon return to normal! The audience members are loving this!..

The 5 backing vocalists with the RTSH Orchestra are getting a moment in the spotlight to perform a tribute to a late artist.

Our final contender is a return to the more regular FiK style, which Klajdi performs very securely although the song is pretty predictable.

Simon thinks so too. Double bow territory there.

One of the hot favorites, Eneda Tarifa is up on stage now. We had heard some concerns about her line vocal but she’s doing great.

R: I think we have a winner? It’s contemporary, looks good and is well performed.

R: Lindi Islami is up next with “For a miracle”. He has a really nice, melodic voice. The song is really sweet and well performed.

R: Renis Gjoka is up next with “The things I can’t tell you”. Not my musical taste, but he’s a good singer.

Time for a multi -Fiker returning for another attempt. Flaka is one of the favourites this year. She has a powerful voice as ever. It’s an energetic performance. Some of the crowd are loving this but the older contingent are not so sure.

R: This is of my favourite songs this year. Beautifully performed but if this wins, it’s gonna need a good revamp.

Many of the audience are rising to the tualet during this break. Many of the orchestra are checking their phones.

R: Another young singer up on stage. It’s Enxhi Nasufi with “Infinite”. The song is too FiKky but she’s got good stage presence. I like it, but I wouldn’t want to see this in Stockholm.

R: Besa Krasniqi is up next. She came all the way from Sweden to sing “Free your heart”. It sounds very contemporary and I could see this sung in English, but I don’t know if it’s strong enough for Eurovision. It’s decent though.

Evans is back for another FiK with Flakë, flame in English. Pretty heavy rock but pretty old fashioned too.

R: I’ll just agree with Simon. It’s a little dull.

R: Genc Tukiçi is next. The only question I have is, why? Some of the audience really like it but others are very distracted right now!

Niku and Entela are next up with muza. That’s muse in English. Yes another mid tempo ballad, but there’s something a little soulful about this one. Some nice chord patterns though the chorus is bland.

Rinor: We started off well, this isn’t well.

Mid tempo rock territory again here. The mood is lighter than many a FiK entry though and it is well received.

R: Last night, this song would’ve stood out but it feels very weak after the first four songs.

R: A Sea with You is the 4th song, performed by Jozefina Simoni. It sounds contemporary and is well performed. I don’t necessarily like these constant ups and downs, but it’s generally good.

Simon Wells
December 26, 20158:26 pm

R: Revolt Klan are up next. I’d say the hip hop is well synced with everything else and it’s vocally good.

The reaction to Rezarta and Klodian in the Pallati is the biggest of the weekend so far. First double bow!!

Simon Wells

R: Rezarta Smaja and Klodian Kaçani are up next. Beautifully performed by both but the ballad feels a little outdated.

Kristi Popa takes to the stage with a telescope and small child. One is curious – the other definitely not allowed at ESC!

Rinor: Shocker: the song is about his son.. And his telescope. It builds up throughout the end but is unfortunately not very well performed.

RTSH confirm to escXtra there will be an announcement tomorrow morning where fik54 finalists will be revealed. We’ll be there. Time TBC.

The Semifinal split and draw order was done at random. Yesterday before the first semi the jury and producers agreed this and informed the participants before they took to the stage. This means that the jury can put through more songs from one of the semis if they should wish to do so.

Rehearsals for day 2 started at 11:00 so here we are with song 1 actually kicking off at 11:55. Everyone’s in casual clothing but we’re running through the full TV show. Be ready for an intriguing prop from Kristi Popa on stage first tonight!

Content Manager: In the real world I work in PR and I love pizza, dogs and gin. When it comes to Eurovision I can be quite a cynical fan at times, but I can always be won over by a killer key-change.

I enjoyed last night’s show but did we not get results at the end?

Will they choose 18 finalists from the full 30 or will they choose 9 from semi? I only say because semi 1 had a much higher standard. Tonight I would only put through Eneda, Enxhi, Flaka and Besa, with maybe Kristi Popa’s opening song which was a good song but a poor singer. I would put through 13 from yesterday’s show, and the above five from tonight’s, and none of tonight’s come close to Aslaydin or Nilsa from yesterday. Agreed?
