Nathan Waddell
January 22, 201610:51 pm

Another interval act now… are they aware that this has been on the air for three hours so far and it isn’t even a final?

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 201610:46 pm

I promise we’re still here. Things still aren’t moving. We’ve had two interval acts so far.

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 201610:36 pm

If you hadn’t worked it out already, we are still waiting for the results here and we have been for thirty minutes. This isn’t exactly a swift semifinal show.

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 201610:26 pm

We are still awaiting the results.

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 201610:07 pm

So we will now await the result from Malta ahead of tomorrow night’s Final.

Some comparisons here for Song 19:

A strong reaction to Song 18, I have to say.

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20169:51 pm

Ira is back for her second song tonight, as far as I’m aware only one of these two songs will make it through.

As ever in Malta, it’s commercial time! Four more songs to come… yes, i’m serious.

It’s only song 9 and we’re an hour in. There’s definitely not the same pace in Malta that we had in Belarus. Here’s the reaction!

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20169:01 pm

As Eurovision fans, we really are opinionated tonight:

Song 8 in Malta has certainly been interesting the social media feeds!

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20168:53 pm

In Malta, Jessica has been on stage too…

Yassia Naumenko
January 22, 20168:49 pm

Most of the comments related to the winner of the Belarusian Final Ivan that I’ve seen so far are quite negative. People are frustrated and many of them say the same “It seems that Belarus is incapable of finding strong singers with good songs that can bring our country the victory”. What a pity indeed!

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20168:46 pm

Our Yassia still has her focus on Belarus…

With our focus back onto Malta now… let’s have a quick catch-up with what we’ve missed!

WE HAVE A RESULT! More to come from us later on this but the winner in Belarus has been decided:

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20168:37 pm

We have still had our attention on Belarus too, particularly given we are waiting to find out who they’ll be sending to Stockholm. We’ve been treated to this tidbit of information too!

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20168:35 pm

Had a bit of a technical nightmare myself for Malta so far, so here’s a quick run through of what people are thinking so far…

AND of course, what we were all waiting for…

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20168:23 pm

If you’re interested in the full results so far, Dan has them here for you!

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20168:21 pm

We’ve still got one eye on Belarus too

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20168:13 pm

So mesc16 is GO! We’ve got Ben Camille on stage looking dressed to impress.

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20168:04 pm

And one final comment, for now, from Belarus. Ben Robertson of ESC Insight had this to say:

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20168:01 pm

And as you can see… Malta is ready!

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20167:57 pm

Nothing more needs to be said about Song 10, this gives you everything you need!

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20167:55 pm

There was also mixed views on Song 9 in Belarus! Just one more to go in the Eastern European nation and we’re almost ready to head down south to the Mediterranean for the Maltese semifinal too.

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20167:54 pm

Song 8 definitely polarised opinion:

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20167:51 pm

With just two acts to go, Belarus is trying something different tonight:

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20167:48 pm

Here’s the view in Malta from our colleague Edward! We hope to have some more Maltese content to share from the shows this weekend too.

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20167:45 pm

There was this description of Song 6 though…

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20167:44 pm

There is absolutely no let-up in Belarus tonight, they’re already moving on with song 7.

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20167:42 pm

There was also this description of Song 5, for our UK-based readers…

Nathan Waddell
January 22, 20167:39 pm

Song 5 has drawn a Jedward-style comparison:
