Autralia we have our Entry! After much speculation it is with great pride we announce that Dami Im will be representing Australia in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest!

After a week of rumors and ambiguous Tweeting and Instagraming from the AustralianSbs Teaser Broadcaster SBS, we now have out entry. The song she will be performing will be unveiled to the world on March 11. After being announced by the reigning queen of Eurovision, Im, performed at the iconic Sydney Opera House to a wanting and loving audience full of Eurovision Fans.

As one of them I can tell you I was extremely excited to be one of the first people in the world to hear our entry performed live. Cue my overwhelming nationalistic pride!

Dami, is another wonderful example of the diversity displayed by SBS (and their performer choices) and it is a testament to what Australia should be – which is the fantastic thing about Eurovision! Dami Im, got her big break on the fifth season of the X Factor Australia and was mentored by none other than Danni Minogue and ever since has become a staple in the Australian music scene.

Delta TweetEarlier in the week things were still up in the air as it looked like Delta Goodrem was the clear leader in who the entry would be, but after an unambiguous tweet it was all down to Dami!

Can’t wait to see what her performance will be like in Stockholm! Hello Europe – Australia Calling!

An Australian from Melbourne who's passion exploded after our first ever inclusion and my first ever attended ESC. Don't worry I've been heavily into it since 2004, even taking over a high school assembly with my own (in hindsight terrible) version. Relatively new to the ESC community, but with a background in media and theatre, I only look forward to my yearly (but lengthy) pilgrimage.
