Eurovision acts 'strip things back' before Stockholm

With just two weeks to go until the artists, fans and delegations start making their way to Stockholm and with all of this year’s preview parties and promo tours pretty much now complete – many of this year’s acts have been treating fans to live, intimate unplugged versions of their entries.  We’ve been listening through some of them and it’s fair to say, they are all pretty damn good!
Here’s a selection of ones you need to hear:
Spain
Barei performed a toned down version of ‘Say Yay!’ for plus.es last month – we really get to hear her voice shine in this and the addition of a guitar takes the song to a whole new level.

Estonia
Shortly before winning Eesti Laul, Jüri impressed viewers of Eli24 with a stripped back version of his entry ‘Play‘ which went on to win the competition a mere two weeks later.

Switzerland
On 12th February, Rykka shared an unplugged version of ‘The Last of our Kind’ to her YouTube followers.  Many commented that they preferred the acoustic version to the original!

The Netherlands
At the end of March, Douwe Bob performed a live acoustic set on NPO Radio 2 which included a performance of his Eurovision entry ‘Slow Down’.  You can tell he’s a natural here as he whips off the headphones!

Ireland
OK so this isn’t exactly an acoustic version of ‘Sunlight’ but was recorded during Nicky’s rehearsal at RTE studios and publicly shared with his followers. None the less, it’s pretty interesting to hear this performed with no instrumentation.
