Today sees the second rehearsal period for each of the songs in semifinal 1. They each have 20 minutes on stage, providing time for two or three runthroughs of each song.

France first rehearsal:

Amir stands alone on stage at the start, in dark blue suit with a white tshirt and white shoes. No socks. The staging is quite simple with planetary images in the background. Into the second chorus a moon graphic appears on the floor under Amir’s feet which bursts into bright light. His face is expressive but there is little movement in the staging. The simplicity is effective, though there are a couple of timings and notes to tidy up.

Spain first rehearsal:

Barei is at the centre of the attention throughout all the show. She is dressed in a bronze metallic short dress and trainers. The four backing singers are dressed in black cheerleader outfits and the entire stage is dark with big cyan triangles. She gimmicks on it falling over like in the video and then she gets back up. The first shot is a long shot from the back of the arena towards the centre of the stage. She also uses the catwalk. All in all not bad but she the backing vocalist need to be tuned differently. Her vocal sounded great, so it’s almost good to go.
