There is no doubt that Eurovision Song Contest is the most popular and important TV happening in the entire world (right?), but I guess we’ll have to admit it is closely followed by the Olympics.

Even though the Olympics are mainly about sports (duh!), in recent years more and more countries have started recording their own team songs for the Olympics. And this year, one of the most impressive voices of the 2016 Eurovision, Sanja Vucic, takes part in the official Team Serbia song for Rio. The song is called Kuca Heroja (House of Heroes).

She’s not alone, she’s in it with a group of other great singers from the Balkan country; Zvonimir Đukic Đule, Goca Tržan, Željko Vasić, Aleksandra Radović, Bane Lalić, Lena Kovačević, Dejan Cukić and
Nataša Bekvalac.

I'm Norwegian, presently living in Iceland. My mom loves Eurovision, and always let me stay up to watch the contest since before I can remember, so I'm "second generation Eurovision lunatic". My musical god is David Bowie, so I'm obviously not into the stereotypical Eurovision songs. I prefer the rocky/bluesy/jazzy/ethnic songs over schlager and mainstream ballads, though I occasionally surprise myself (and others)... I HATE canned drums and "Cvet Z juga". Photo © Tobias König
