Changes to engage younger audience
As we previously reported, RTSH introduced some changes to their FiK’s format. In fact, the show will consist of three separate shows. The first one will feature the typical Albanian National Symphonic Orchestra. On the other hand, during the second night artists are invited to perform the song as they would at Eurovision. Eventually, a number of songs will proceed to a final night where we will know the country’s representative for Tel Aviv. According to Inva Mula, the show’s new artistic director, these changes are part of an effort to increase the engagement between the show and younger audiences.
Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest
Albania made their Eurovision debut back in 2004 and participated every year since. Anjeza Shahini was the first to represent the country at the contest with her song “The Image of You”, finishing in a respectable 7th place. So far, they qualified for the final a total of 8 times, most recently in 2018. Their best result to date is Rona Nishliu’s 5th place in 2012 with her entry “Suus“. In Lisbon, Eugent Bushpepa managed to qualify for the grand final for Albania for the first time since 2015 and finished 11th with 184 points, giving Albania their 3rd best result at the contest.
Which of the entries would you like to represent Albania in Tel Aviv? Do you think we have a potential entry to give Albania their first ever Eurovision victory?
