MTVA has announced that Hungary will take part in Azerbaijan, soon after the contest in Germany has ended.
For the 2012 edition, two semi finals and a final will be organized in order to choose the best song for Baku. The submission period ended on the 30th of December 2011, and a total of 202 songs were received. A special jury (including Viktor Rakonczai – composer, Kati Wolf – singer, Jenő Csiszár – tv and radio presenter, and Philip Rakay in front of MTV) have chosen the following 20 to take part in the national final:

These 20 contestants will be divided into two semi finals, which will be held on the 28th of January, and on the 4th of February. Four will qualify from each semi final (three chosen by jury, and one chosen by televoting), to make it a final of eight. The final is going to be held on the 11th of February, in two phases – phase one where televoting will determine the top four, and then split jury voting and televotes will decide the winner within the four superfinalists.
