About the Show

Moldovan broadcaster TRM confirmed the country’s participation in Baku 2012 on 28th December, putting to rest much speculation that the country would withdraw. On 22nd January, the sixty entries on the long-list were announced and these will be narrowed down to 20 for the Final. Of the remaining forty songs, an internet voting period will begin in which one more song will be selected thus meaning the National Final on Saturday 10 March will have 21 songs in total.

Amongst those taking part is Geta Burlacu and Nelly Ciobanu who represented the county in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Sunstroke Project & Olia Tira (2010) were eliminated at the first round due to plagiarism claims.
