After a year like no other, ESCXTRA can’t be in the Polish capital city of Warsaw to bring you live coverage of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Meet Ala Tracz
10 Year Old Ala Tracz was selected to represent Poland at the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, after winning Szansa na Sukces. She will be singing the song ‘I’ll Be Standing’, which was written and composed by Andrzej Gromala & Sara Chmiel – Gromala.
In an interview with junioreurovision.tv, she has mentioned that her favourite lyric from her entry is ‘”Będę siłą“- which literally means “I’ll be strong”. It’s her favourite part of the song because she thinks that in life you have to be strong and always fight, never give up.
Poland at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Poland made their debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest when the contest began in 2003, in Copenhagen, Denmark. After winning the Polish national final for the contest Katarzyna Żurawik represented the nation with the song, “Coś mnie nosi”. Unfortunately, they finished last with just three points. In 2004, Poland came out with exactly the same result, finishing in the last place slot with again, three points.
After two years of poor results and despite TVP signing a 3-year contract with the EBU, Poland decided to withdraw from the contest in 2005. The country did not return to compete again until 2016, despite rumours in 2008 that the broadcaster was considering making a return.
On their return in 2016, Poland sent Olivia Wieczorek with the song “Nie zapomnij”, which finished in 11th place with 60 points. Last year, Roksana Węgiel became the winner of the sixteenth Junior Eurovision Song Contest with “Anyone I Want To Be”. A strong public vote landed her with 215 points to France’s 203 points.
In 2019, Viki Gabor won the contest with the song “Superhero”. She scored a total of 278 points, 51 points ahead of second-place Kazakhstan. Poland received over 550,000 votes in the online vote, over 200,000 votes ahead of Spain.

The first round of voting is open right now and will close at 4.59pm CET on Sunday 29th November, just before the beginning of the live broadcast. Then, voting will reopen during the show for fifteen minutes following the final performance so that any final votes can be cast.
