How was it selected?
The Cypriot national broadcaster, Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBC), announced on February 1 that its entry for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Malmö, would come from female solo artist Despina Olympiou. On February 14, the song was announced as “An me thimase” which is written by Zenon Zindilis and Andreas Giorgallis.

In Baku, Ivi Adamou represented the Mediterranean island with the song “La La Love” which finished 16th in the Grand Final with 65 points, the country’s best result since 2004. In the first semifinal, Cyprus achieved a position of 7th with 91 points.

Cyprus will perfom in the second half of the first semifinal. Despina Olympiou will present the song "An me thimase" (If You Remember Me) in the Greek language.
