Janet: “Singing is the favourite thing in my life” [Interview]

Only a few days before the national final in Belarus will kick off, escXtra had the chance to have a short chat with Janet, who is one of the 14 acts in this national selection. Here you can read what Janet told us in our interview:

escXtra: Hi Janet! Thank you very much for taking your time out to do this interview with us. Can you tell us a bit about yourself for the start?

Janet: Hello everyone!! 🙂 My name is Janet, I am from Belarus, and I live all of my life with music in my heart! I started singing when I was only 3 years old, and singing is the favourite thing in my life! I have many years of experience working in the music industry, but I am always open for new projects in the music.

X: What made you enter the Belarussian national selection this year?

J: My beautiful song, of course! 🙂 This song is a child of very talented people – Ylva Persson, Linda Persson and Niclas Haglund.

X: How did you get in contact with them, and how did this international collaboration start?

J: We are found each others over the Internet, and our relations started… it’s music magic! 🙂 At the start we were only messaging each other, but now we talk a lot about music, about songs… and we became really good friends 🙂

X: Can you tell us a bit about “You Will Be Here”?

J: I loved this song from the first time I heard it! This song is a love ballad about a woman who is writing a letter to a distant boyfriend waiting for his freedom in custody. She expresses her passion and hopes for them to get united. She loves and prays! It’s like in a real life! I love this kind of stories in songs…

X: What would representing Belarus in Eurovision mean to you?

J: Eurovision is a big competition of course, but first of all this is a big chance to tell the people something! Give them hope and support. Make them believe in something. And you can do all this with just your song! I think this is great!

X: Have you heard the other competing songs in the national selection, and who do you think will be your biggest competition to win the Final?

J: All of the songs are great, of course! People write the songs from their hearts, they put their souls in the songs, and I think that is wonderful! My song is the same! People will choose.. and this is right way! 🙂

X: Can you tell us a bit about how you are planning your performance to be in the national final?
J: This is a secret! 🙂 It will be our small secret until the competition 🙂 I just want to say that the performance in Belarus and in Copenhagen (in a case i win) will be different! 🙂
X: Did you watch Eurovision in previous years?
J: Of course, it’s a very exciting Contest! And full of surprises 🙂 and it is a wonderful chance to get to know new singers and songs!
X: Have you got an all time favorite Eurovision song?
J: There are lots of beautiful songs! How can i choose?! 🙂
X: Finally, do you have a message for all the readers of escXtra.com?
J: Life is a present! Life gives a big chance for all of us to be happy, to be in love. Give your love to everyone, and life will give you the same 🙂 My heart is with all of you… From Belarus with love! 🙂
