TVE looking in music reality pool?

In a year when speculation about the Spanish representative might have reach unprecedented hype, eurovision-spain claim to have learnt from reliable sources that TVE would be looking back to reality shows to try and find a suitable representative for Copenhagen. It was published that TVE would reveal their plans for Eurovision 2014 today, but the broadcaster has not officially stated anything about it.
TVE would have contacted Jorge González (‘Operación Triunfo’, ‘La Voz’ and former national finalist), Roser and Melody (2009 runner up), and other participants in shows like ‘Tu Cara Me Suena’, ‘La Voz’ and ‘Uno De Los Nuestros’, many of which are said to have turned down the offer, and others would be in search of a songwriter or a song. The idea would be to hold a national final with these artists (probably four or five), which was supposedly meant to be only through online vote but now would actually become a live show.
It is also said that Ruth Lorenzo, who has received massive support from the Eurofan community to be their representative, has split the opinion within TVE, with some of them regarding her as a suitable option, being known in the UK and Ireland due to her participation in X-factor, while others can’t find justification in her selection as a relatively unknown face in the Spanish music industry. It is unknown whether Lorenzo would participate in the national final, should one be held.
While many sites have published numerous rumours about what TVE are planning, reality is that the public broadcaster continues to remain silent. Whether anything will ultimately be revealed today remains to be seen and speculation continues to grow. The only problem I see with this is that if the ultimate chosen one does not live to the expectations of a fan community that is craving to know who will represent them TVE might end up with an entry that is even less supported than ESDM. Hope is, in the end, that the choice will be a decent song with a performer that can deliver a solid live performance.
