Hien: “I’ve always been addicted to music” [Interview]

Hien is a Hungarian singer, with Vietnamese roots, who shot to fame after taking part in the fourth season of Megasztár (Hungarian version of Pop Idol). Ever since then, she has received awards for her music and video clips, and her songs charted in Hungary and in Germany.
Hien is taking part in A Dal for the very first time. We had a chat with her about her expectations, her song, and also asked her about her personal favourites. She also sent a video message for all our readers:

You can read the interview we did with Hien right here:
escXtra: Hi Hien, thank you for taking your time out for doing this interview. Can you tell us a little bit about yourselves for the start?
Hien: Hi Ervin! I’ve been always addicted to music since I was a little baby. I played the violin and the piano for 7 years. Later I attended to the Hungarian Idol in 2008 when I was 14. Since then I’ve received a record contract and have came out with 2 records.
Hien2X: How did you decide to enter this year’s edition of A Dal?
H: On one hand I’d have wanted to attend to a Tv show where I have an opportunity to propagate my song. On the other hand I would like to have a new big journey and challenge
X: Can you tell us a bit about “The Way I Do”?
H: The song was composed by me and the lyrics were written by Johnny Palmer. I love this song because it’s fresh, energetic and it talks about freedom, instinct. It was finished very soon so it was born very randomly.
X: You composed this song yourself. Did you compose it especially for this Contest?
H: Not at all. At first I didn’t want to enter this edition. My manager has convinced me and I said why not.
X: How are you preparing for the contest?
H: I just want to have a very good party with my band on the stage and sing out loudly. I do not want to overthink it at all.
X: Can you tell us how your stage performance is going to look like?
H: Me and my super sexy band. That’s all:)
hienX: Did you hear the other competing songs this year, and have you got your personal favourite song?
H: Of course I did. My favourite one is Running Out Of Time by Viktor Kiraly.
X: If you could sing a duet with any of the other 29 contestants this year, who would it be with, and why?
H: Kallay Saunders Andras. Because I love his voice and his style. I think we would suit together.
X: What would representing Hungary in Eurovision mean to you?
H: Nevertheless my parents are Vietnamese I consider myself Hungarian because I was born in Hungary and has grown up here. I am very proud of it therefore I would be very happy if Hungarian people accepted me and trusted me enough for this mission.
X: Do you have a message for all your fans, and all the readers of escXtra?
H: I hope that you like my song, I love my fans and they mean to me so much that they can’t even imagine.  I’m sure that they will support me like before.
X: Thank you very much, and we wish you all the best in A Dal!
H: Thank you!
