Media have been speculating about it for months, but RAI has now finally confirmed that it will indeed be Emma Marrone who will fly their flag for Eurovision 2014 in Copenhagen.
Speculations came to climaxes in the past weeks, when Emma’s manager sent out a tweet in Danish and yesterday, when Emma herself gave an interview on Italian radio. The speculation has now come to an end, as RAI, the Italian broadcaster, sent out a Facebook status, confirming Emma’s Eurovision participation:
Welcome on board Emma! You enchanted Italy, let’s go conquer Europe!
Emma has been most famous since 2012, when she won the Sanremo festival with her Non È L’Inferno. Ever since, she’s been scoring hits in Italy. She can be considered as one of Italy’s biggest national stars at the moment.
It has not been announced as of yet which song Emma will sing in Copenhagen. The rumoured song title is La Mia Città, but RAI has not confirmed nor denied this.
