German broadcaster NDR confirmed this morning that it received 2240 video submissions for the ‘wildcard’ round, which takes next month in Hamburg.
From these submissions, ten will be chosen to go forward to the live wildcard selection show. A special jury comprising of representative from Brainpool, Sony BMI, Warner Music, Universal Music, other independent labels, and youth-oriented radio station DJs will listen to the songs and pick the ten by early next month.
Barbara Schöneberger (pictured) will moderate the pre-round, as well as the national final, which take place on 27 February and 13 March respectively. From the pre-round, one lucky act will receive a wildcard to the national final.
