Over the weekend, Moldovan national broadcaster TVM released details of the 40 songs in the running for its national final, which will select which song and artist will follow the footsteps of Aliona Moon to the Eurovision Song Contest 2014. The 40 songs will be whittled down to 24 for the national final by an expert jury panel consisting of Anatol Chiriac, Valentin Dang, Nelly Ciobanu, Marcel Ştefăneţ, Aliona Triboi, Andrei Sava and Angela Rudenco. Nelly Ciobanu participated in Eurovision for Moldova in 2009 with the song Hora Din Moldova.
The 40 songs in the running are as follows:
