Eurovision

Online voting included in Dziesma result

This year’s Dziesma theme may be ‘Made In Latvia’, but that doesn’t mean that they’re keeping it totally insular this year, Latvian broadcaster LTV have decided to allow an online voting component which will be included into the 50% which comes from the televote. This allows fans all around the world to have their say as to who represents Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest. The voting takes place on LTV’s website here and will presumably be open for the same window of time as the televoting.
Furthermore, the acts who will participate in each of the semi-finals has also been revealed with a couple of familiar names:
Saturday’s semi final will see three groups perform; Dzelzs vilks, actors group Gapoljeri and folk musicians The Dimantas Sisters along with hip hop peroformer Pikaso while Sunday’s semi final will see Sinplus from Switzerland return to Latvia along side Latvia’s 2010 performer Aisha. They will be joined by the choirs “Latvian Voices” (Champions of World Choir Games 2012) and “Sõla” (winners of Clashes of Choirs at Latvian Song and Dance Festival 2013) along with the group Headline.
The six songs that qualify from each of this weekend’s semi finals will face off against each other on February 22nd in Ventspils to see who will wear the Latvian crown in Copenhagen.
