Sweden’s final semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2014

24 songs down, just 8 to go. Sweden closes the semifinal stage of Melodifestivalen 2014 tonight, welcoming back some well-known performers to the most famous stage in the country.
As ever, two songs will qualify through to the Final with another two proceeding to next week’s Andra chansen (Second chance) show.
Former finalists Alcazar, Linda Bengtzing and Anton Ewald are all bringing their best back onto the Melodifestivalen scene tonight. When we spoke to Alcazar, they told us that they are in it to win it whereas Linda Bengtzing said that Anton and Alcazar are her biggest competition.
Janet Leon is back to try again after failing to move on from her semifinal last year and newcomer Josef Johansson are both bringing a pop music sound to the stage.
Rock artists Ammotrack and IDA will attempt to be the first rock act through to this year’s Melodifestivalen final, whilst Ellinore Holmer also makes her début having performed as an interval act previously.
In full, this week’s participants are:
01 – Alcazar: “Blame It On the Disco”
02 – IDA: “Fight Me If You Dare”
03 – Janet Leon: “Hollow”
04 – Ammotrack: “Raise Your Hands”
05 – Josef Johansson: “Hela natten”
