Final Dziesma voting results revealed

The voting results of Dziesma’s final which took place on Saturday have today been revealed by Latvian state broadcaster LTV. The decision to send Aarzemnieki was reached through 50/50 televoting and jury voting through two rounds of voting. The results are as follows:

Due to the large amount of traffic  to the LTV website there was a period of unavailability and as such the online votes made during this round were deemed invalid and not counted in the final score.

6. Olga un Līgo – Saule Riet (9 + 3 = 12)
7. Katrīna Bindere – Moment and Tomorrow (7 + 5 = 12)
8. MyRadiantU – Going All The Way (6 + 9 = 15)
9. Niko – Here I Am Again (11 + 6 = 17)

In the cases of a tie, the televote was deemed the tiebreaker. This meant that Dons, Aarzemnieki and Samanta Tīna qualified for the superfinal.

3. Samanta Tīna – Stay

Televote + Internet vote for superfinal:

1. Aarzemnieki – Cake to Bake (3949 + 1529 = 5478)
2. Dons – Pēdējā vēstule (3830 + 1551 = 5381)
3. Samanta Tīna – Stay (1979 + 797 = 2776)

Total votes cast = 13675
Superfinal combined score (Jury + Public vote):

1. Aarzemnieki – Cake to Bake (2 + 1 = 3)
2. Dons – Pēdējā vēstule (1 + 2 = 3)
3. Samanta Tīna – Stay (3 + 3 = 6)

Again, the televote was given more weighting to decide any tie breaks.
As you can see from this, Aarzemnieki won by the slimmest of margins only ever being the most favoured in the phone voting in the final round. It was that round however that counted most awarding them victory by an overall margin of 97 votes out of 13675 votes cast in the final round.
It is currently unknown exactly how many votes came from within Latvia and by which of the three social media platforms they were cast on, nor do we have full data for the semi finals. We expect that information in the coming week.
