Elaiza wins the wildcard

During a wildcard round in the Edelfettwerk in Hamburg, Germany picked Elaiza as their wildcard for the German national final. The girl group will join the seven other acts on 13 March in the national final.
The show was hosted by Barbara Schönenberger, Janin Reinhardt and Adel Tawil. Tawil was responsible for the wildcard campaign whereas Schönenberger will also host the national final in two weeks. A total of 2240 acts submitted an entry to the broadcaster in order to participate in tonight’s show. However, just ten of them made the cut. Elaiza emerged to be the winner, scoring over 23% of the voters. Runner-up Caroline Rose scored 17% of the votes. The winners performed their song Is It Right, which can be described as a folk song with pop influences. It is expected that they will also use the song for Unser Song für Dänemark in two weeks.
