A day before the Romanian national final, escXtra.com spoke to Imre Vizi. The runner-up of the second season of The Voice in Romania will try to win the ticket with his song Kind of Girl. Read what he had to say below!
escXtra.com: Hey Imre! Thank you for taking the time to speak to us! How do you feel, so shortly before the national final?
Imre Vizi: Hi! Thank you too. I feel a little bit excited becouse my main concern is to do my best on stage, this is my main goal.
X: Could you tell us something about yourself?
I: I was born in 1986 I started this music when I was 14. Originally I’m a bass player but I had to start playing the acoustic guitar and start singing in covers in pubs to make a living. It turned out to be the best school I have ever attended to. I advise every young musician to go play in pubs.
X: You’ll perform Kind of Girl this weekend. What is the song about?
I: Well I tryed to sing about love from a different perspective: the friendzone perspective. I guess everybody has been through that period of life. The sound is meant to be vintage. We recorded everything live with 3 microphones in a wooden mountain cottage and we had really good fun doing it.
X: You were the runner-up on the second season of The Voice in Romania. A lot of contestants from that show all over Europe are trying to go to Eurovision. What do you think is the reason behind that?
I: International aknowledgement.
X: What was your reason to apply for the national final?
I: International aknowledgment and fun. I like these tv shows, I like to see how these shows are made and i love that feeling when I’m in the backstage with lots of people running around for one purpose: the show.
X: You’re up against some other big names on Saturday. What’s your formula to beat them?
I: I know this is a contest but my main concern is my own show. I do not have any weapons or anything else in my sleeve. I’m gonna have a great time and i hope to drag everybody along with me this way to convince them to vote me.
X: What would going to Eurovision mean to you?
I: It would be an honour for me and I would do my best to represent my country and maybe win the contest in Denmark.
X: Are you a Eurovision fan?
I: Yes.
X: Do you have an all time favourite Eurovision song?
I: WATERLOOOOOOO!!!!!!
X: Finally, do you have a message for the readers of escXtra.com?
I: Yea enjoy the show. And vote for me
