For the first time, Brasov hosts Selecția Națională, Romania’s national final to determine their entry in the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. The show begins at 19:30cet, and escXtra team is represented at the Teatru Dramatic by Luke, Ervin and Alec who shall bring us coverage from the show and backstage, while I keep a keen eye on the TV coverage which you can follow here. If you’re planning some nation-hopping this evening, expect a result in Romania at approximately 22:00cet.
The result will be determined by a 50%/50% split of jury and televote. Seven jurors will individually award points in Eurovision style, (1-8, 10, 12), with the jury rankings being converted to one overall awarding of 1-8 ,10 and 12 points to their top ten songs. The public vote’s ranking will be handled in the same way. In the not-unlikely event of a tie, the winner will be the act that received the most douzes from individual jurors.
