Melodifestivalen 2014 results released in full

After the thrilling finale to Saturday’s Melodifestivalen 2014 final, Sveriges Television (SVT) have now published the results from the competition in full.
We will publish a detailed analytical report later but here are the highlights in brief:

  • YOHIO won Semifinal 1 by only 17,775, a much smaller margin than in 2013
  • Semifinal 2 was, of course, won by Sanna Nielsen, who won the whole competition, by a landslide 52,551 votes.
  • For Semifinal 3, it was Oscar Zia who secured the most votes from the public, 60,735, compared with eventual runner-up Ace Wilder who only received 43,704 – 861 votes ahead of third placed State of Drama.
  • In Semifinal 4, pre-contest favorite Anton Ewald was second with 71,675 votes whilst Alcazar were ahead in 1st with 97,453.

The official voting totals for the final are as follows:
Sanna Nielsen: 25.8% – 307,788
Ace Wilder: 23.8% – 283,831
Alcazar: 10.1% – 120,654
Helena Paparizou: 5.6% – 67,336
Linus Svenning: 7.9% – 93,974
YOHIO: 9.2% – 109,363
Ellen Benediktson: 6.4% – 75,748
Oscar Zia: 4.4% – 52,844
Panetoz: 3.8% – 45,614
Anton Ewald: 3.0% – 35,208
Sanna Nielsen won the televote by only 23,957 votes, the second smallest margin in the last ten years. The smallest was just 3,705 between Malena Ernman and Caroline af Ugglas in 2009.
