Latvian band Aarzemnieki who are this year representing Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen have released the official film clip of their entry ‘Cake to Bake’ which won their national selection ‘Dziesma’ last month.
The film clip was shot on Tuesday at Latvia’s Ethnographic Open Air Museum and was directed by Aija Strazdiņa and filmed by Jānis Salms with assistance by Latvia’s state broadcaster LTV.
The film clip shows lead singer/guitarist Jöran Steinhauer singing the song by himself in various outdoor locations and occasionally joined by the other three band members; violinist/backing singer Katrīna Dimanta, percussion/backing vocalist Raitis Vilumovs and guitarist/songwriter Guntis Veilands. The band are joined later in the clip by a number of extras with shots taking place during the day, at twilight and around a campfire at night, accentuating the campfire-esque nature of the song.
The film clip also has a subtitle track to help those who do not speak Latvian to understand the small amounts of Latvian contained within the song. See the film clip below!
