Axel Hirsoux won this year’s edition of the Belgian national final Eurosong with his power ballad “Mother”, and will thus represent his country in Copenhagen. He won the jury votes, and then won the televotes as well with a landslide (receiving 57% of total televotes), which resulted in a victory with 234 points, which is 144 points more than the entry that finished in second place.
