The official song for the The ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021

The winner and the silver medalist of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, Måns Zelmerlöw and Polina Gagarina have joined forces and will release “Circles and Squares” in February. The song is the official song for the The ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021.

Eurovision winning writers behind the song

Måns Zelmerlöw won the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with his song “Heroes” while Polina Gagarina finished second with “A Million Voices”. The song, entitled “Circles and Squares”, is released on February 19th, and is written by Måns Zelmerlöw, Stefan Örn, David Lindgren Zacharias, Sandra Bjurman and Jon Eyden.

Stefan Örn and Sandra Bjurman co-wrote the Eurovision winning song “Running Scared” for Azerbaijan in 2011.

When we wrote the song, we wanted to match the drama and dramaturgical dynamism of figure skating. I really think that we’ve created a song for the ice.

The music video for the song will be out on February 28. Last week Måns teased the song and the music video by posting pictures of him skating.

For me, this co-operation is not only about travelling to beautiful Sweden, where the World Championships are being held, but also about getting into the world of figure skating. I really admire the skaters. Everything they do seems impossible and fantastic to me. I’m delighted that Måns and I are singing the main track for this major event.

The ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2021 will be held at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm at the end of March.
