Mikolas Josef welcomed home by hundreds of fans after success in Lisbon

After achieving a major success at the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon past Saturday, Mikolas Josef returned home and thanked his fans by giving a spontaneous concert in the heart of Prague. Hundreds of people showed up to welcome him home and celebrate the sixth place.

As he began his musical career as a street artist, it was obvious to thank all his fans back home by doing a small concert on the streets of Prague. Many fans showed up to party with Mikolas and even the mayor of Prague came to join the celebration.
The Czech Republic only made it to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest twice so far. Before the past Saturday, the best result was second to last in 2016. Coming sixth overall and fourth in the televoting is a huge step for the Czech Republic and a good direction for the future in the contest.

What is next for Mikolas Josef?

After signing his first record deal back in April, Mikolas will now go to Los Angeles to record more music. While his Eurovision entry “Lie To Me” is currently charting everywhere, it’s just a question of time, till we get new tunes from him.
Mikolas Josef represented his country, the Czech Republic, in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with his song “Lie To Me” and achieved the best ever result for his country by coming sixth in the grand final.
