XTRA DECIDES sees the team here at ESCXTRA score the Eurovision national final songs, reviewing our winner. Follow us from here through to March 2024 as we make our choices for Eurovision 2024.
Nine acts will compete in Das Deutsche Finale in Berlin for the opportunity to represent Germany at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. Our choice to win the competition is Bodine Monet with “Tears Like Rain”.

| I really like this. The vocal that punches through the subtle Country-Pop vibe to the entry, reminds me of the early work of Faouzia, who I am a massive fan of! It instantly grabs you and sounds like it could be on the radio. The Big 5 do have an advantage here, in being able to send songs ready made for the jury to bite into when they get their chance to vote in the Final. Of course, it has to be selected first and we know Germany are not always great at that part! It seems like NDR are finally listening though, there are several good songs with potential in the line-up. |

| This isn’t my favourite in the national selection, but it’s definitely a song I wouldn’t mind hearing a couple more times! It is definitely a radio hit, but it also has something…more. It grabs your attention with the beat and Bodine’s really nice vocals. I’m really curious about the staging that she will bring to elevate the song, as I feel there are a lot of opportunities to use staging to make it just that little bit more memorable. Definitely a song that juries would love as well! |
